The Rotary Club of College Park is proud to sponsor, with the help of many community and local business supporters, this FREE monthly book program for pre-kindergarten children residing in the Princeton Elementary and Lake Silver Elementary School Districts as well as 32804, 32808 and 32810 zip code areas.

FREE monthly children’s books are mailed to children from birth to age 5 and registration is open to ALL area children from birth through age 4-1/2.

This program is made possible by the Rotary Club of College Park Foundation in a working relationship with The Dollywood Foundation, but we can’t do it alone. Books can be mailed only as funding is available.

All children in the designate areas are eligible to enroll, but since there are thousands of potential enrollees in this area, the Rotary Club of College Park cannot send the names on to Dollywood Foundation unless there are adequate sponsors. The Rotary Club of College Park has committed to fund the first 100 enrollees. After those are enrolled, additional children will be put on a first-come-first-served waiting list and additional sponsors will be invited to participate. As soon as funding is available, the names on the waiting list will be sent to Dollywood Foundation to be put on the mailing list.

Our Mission

Our club’s mission, for this pre-kindergarten literacy program, is to help parents and guardians develop a love of books and reading in their children with the goal of helping every child in the designated areas to be fully prepared for kindergarten.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library project was launched by the Rotary Club of College Park in September, 2012.  Although parents can enroll their children on-line throughout the year, most enrollments are received at our tent during the College Park Partnership’s Holiday on the Drive street festival each December.  Please drop by the Rotary Club of College Park’s tent at this year’s Holiday on the Drive for more information about this program.

The Imagination Library FREE monthly children’s book program runs from birth through age 5 and new registration is open to all area children from birth through age 4-1/2.

FAQ’s

What is Imagination Library all about?

The Dolly Parton Imagination Library is a unique early years book gifting program that mails a brand new, age-appropriate book to enrolled children every month from birth until five years of age, creating a home library of up to 60 books and instilling a love of books and reading from an early age.

How much does a parent pay for this program?

Absolutely nothing! It is free to any pre-school child (birth to age 4 ½) in the designated areas.

If the parent pays nothing, who pays for the program?

This is a joint effort between The Dolly Parton Foundation and the Rotary Club of College Park Foundation as well as cooperation with leading book publishers. It also requires the support of local citizens and businesses as sponsors. Books can be mailed only as funding is available – so we need your help!

Where must I live to participate in this program?

The Rotary Club of College Park is sponsoring the program for pre-school children in the 32804, 32808 and 32810 zip codes as well as any child in the Princeton or Lake Silver Elementary School districts.

What do I do to enroll my child?

If your child is under age 4 ½ and lives in the designated areas, complete the application form and email it or mail it to reading@collegeparkrotary.org or mail to College Park Rotary Reading, P.O. Box 540000, Orlando, FL 32854.

What if I move out of the designated areas?

Unfortunately, we can provide books only to children within our area. If you move, we hope that some organization in your new neighborhood will be able to help you enroll. Although our program has just started, we have already had parents enroll who had their child enrolled in another state and were delighted to find that they can continue the program here.

How long has College Park Rotary been sponsoring this program?

Rotary International began a working relationship with the Dolly Parton Foundation in 2009 and renewed that relationship in 2012. The Rotary Club of College Park started its program in September 2012.
